Well visits, especially from infancy through the pre-school years are important! They allow frequent assessment of your child’s growth and development, and regular immunization. More importantly, however, they provide a time to discuss your questions and concerns and help prepare you for future developmental stages and routine illnesses.
Scheduling physical exam appointments in advance will allow you to choose the physician and appointment time which is most convenient for you.
As a rule, we will only schedule two physical exam appointments per family per day. However, if you have triplets less than 18 months old, we will see them together.
As a courtesy, our offices will confirm physical exam appointments 3 days in advance and again 2 hours before your scheduled appointment time. If you must cancel your appointment, you must call at least 24 hours in advance, or you will be assessed a $75 missed appointment fee.
For a complete list of the Well Child physical exam schedule as well as lots of information and tips, please refer to our “Baby Book”which is now available “on line”. The updated vaccine schedule is available here. Regular well-child exams are routinely scheduled at two weeks, four weeks, then at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months. Thereafter exams are scheduled yearly. Well-child exams at 21 and 30 months are optional and may not be covered by your insurance company. Please note, the 2 month, 6 month, 12 month, 4 year and 11 year visits must be on or after the child’s birthday due to immunization schedules.
All office visits are scheduled on an appointment basis only (except during walk-in time). Appointments for physical exams and sick children are available at both the Stamford and Darien offices.
Appointments are scheduled at the following times:
Monday – Friday
9:30 am – 12:30 pm
2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
The office is not currently holding walk-in hours in either location
during the week.
If your child is 6 or older and needs a vaccine booster or other immunization, you can make an appointment or walk in for a nurse visit.
If your child is 5 or younger, a shot visit needs to be scheduled with a doctor so they can establish if your child is healthy enough to receive the vaccines.
Shot hours run more efficiently if appointments are made, therefore wait times may be longer if you walk in for shots. Your child will not be scheduled to see a physician and you will be free to leave after the vaccine is administered.
Shot Hours:
Monday-Friday
9:00am – 1:00pm
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Sunday and Major Holiday hours (i.e. New Years Day)
Please call the office to speak to a doctor as early as possible after 8:00 am. The doctor will arrange appropriate care for your child after speaking with you. Please note there are no walk-ins on the Sundays and major holidays.
Minor Holidays (i.e. President’s Day)
Both offices are open for sick visits only. Please call the same day, as early as possible, to make an appointment.
The Stamford office is open for emergency sick visits only. The Darien office is closed. Chronic problems and re-checks will not be scheduled on Saturdays. Please call the same day, as early as possible, to make an appointment. Please note there are no walk-ins on Saturdays.
