Come join the New Mom’s Support Group… friends made, questions answered and reassurance provided!

The New Mom’s Support Group is a bi-monthly informal meeting for moms of newborns held every other Wednesday from 1 pm to 2 pm in our Darien office. The goal of this group is to assist in making this exciting but scary and exhausting period in a parent’s life as fulfilling as possible and to serve as a support system. It is a place to share concerns, questions, and experiences. The group will be facilitated by either Amy Cram, MD or Amy Lief, MD and Lorna Aliperti, APRN, IBCLC, a certified lactation consultant. We answer questions and discuss a lot of the issues that are common to all the moms in the group such as feeding, sleeping (and the lack thereof), normal development, infant stimulation, how to keep the dads involved, dealing with grandparents, how to make child care choices, going back to work etc. The topics are raised by the group and are open discussions. In addition moms get to meet other new moms with babies the same age who are going through what they are going through. The group is a bonding experience and a place to meet new friends.

There is no cost and no commitment. The sessions are for all mothers with a child under one year, no matter if this is your 1st child or your 4th. Come meet and chat in a relaxed setting. There is no pressure and no need to feel like you have to be put together to attend. Of course, mothers are accompanied by their babies and their babies can be fed or changed as needed during the group.
